Her modeling career started at Lakme Fashion Week in 2017. Since then, she has been involved in several campaigns, including campaigns with Fiat Palio & Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka started auditioning films and joined an acting academy alongside her career as model. Anushka Sharma made her acting debut in the 2008 film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi featuring Shah Rukh Khan. For her screen test, she refused to perform an unplanned test and instead took one day to get ready. Then she was commissioned for three films as part of the Yash Raj Films label. The role she played was that of a younger wedding bride to a middle-aged actor (Shah Rukh Khan) in the movie. The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. In 2010 Anushka Sharma appeared in the film 'Badmash Company' alongside Shahid Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. Das and Meiyang Chang. It received mixed reviews. Anushka was in a movie called Band Baaja Baaraat with Ranveer, where she played the role of a middle class who sets up her wedding planning company. The film was an unexpected success and was praised by the critics. The contract of Anushka's for three films under Yash Raj Films was completed by Band Baaja Baaraat.
